Microsoft Windows 8.1 Update 1 to be released on 8th April

On the same day Windows XP is shipped off to the bone yard.

From Hexus:

Windows guru Paul Thurrott has Tweeted that Windows 8.1 Update 1 is set for general release on the 8th April 2014. This is the same day as extended support for Microsoft Windows XP and Office 2003 ends. Thurrott also indicated that MSDN subscribers will get access to the OS update, nearly a week earlier, on the 2nd April.

April 8th happens to be a 'Patch Tuesday', as Neowin reminds us. Non MSDN folk will be notified and receive the update though the Windows Update mechanism. We heard last weekend from Microsoft's Joe Belfiore that the Windows 8.1 Update 1 was "coming in spring," but it's good to have a proper date from such a well regarded source as Thurrott.

Wait, wasnt Windows 8 going to be to be the Os that Microsoft DIDN'T issues "service packs" for?....oh wait, that was until they realised how badly written it was....

Thats 2 service packs, they may call them "updates", in like 6 months...inspiring confidence...not

if you write some code ? will it be correct at the first ? when they made vista they have the same ting.

when they made xp - the same problem - windows 98 -me - windows 2000

could you write a code in first stadium to be correct for all hardware ?

so they are working on a better os , and it takes some re writing.but it comes and faster as before !
