loyal
David Marcus, PayPal’s president, has announced that his credit card details have been stolen and the information used for a spending spree. According to his own tweets, Marcus believes that his card was skimmed at the hotel he was staying at, or at a merchant during a trip to the United Kingdom. The card was later cloned and used for fraudulent purposes. While his card had the EMV chip technology, this didn’t prevent his data from being stolen. Skimmers are some of the most used devices employed to steal card information and are usually fixed to the front of the ATM or shopping terminal. When a card is swiped, the information is gathered and can be used at any time. While he may have gotten scammed, that didn’t stop him from touting the benefits of PayPal, which offers strong security. If more merchants accepted PayPal, he said, he wouldn’t have been a victim.source:-softpedia Edited February 12, 2014 by loyal
