Here is a trick which makes you use idm for lifetime without being blocked

1-first install the version of idm you want to use

2-then exit idm from taskbar

3-go to the windows folder in the drive where you install your os/system 32/drivers/etc

4-open the hosts file using notepad and remove all text and add these

lines --

# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.

There's nothing new with this method, already shared no. of times. <_<

Here's A simple batch script that will update your HOST's file (Block IDM), inserts IDM Serial to registry & makes IDM activated forever! :)

any thing new? :o

Yes, the Batch Script by @ank91 is not working even after modifying the Reg Value to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Internet Download Manager] from [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow3264Node\Internet Download Manager] as t here is no such key "Wow3264Node" & it should be "Wow6432Node"

@slimrock

i hav just google and found that host file does not accept wild cards and IP address..

so they are useless. I also need to update my script as well.

here it is--

Can you download and test this one (V1.8)

IDM LIFETIME V1.8.zip (5kb only)

i have fixed the registry path many days ago.

.

The error you described (posted image) occurs when all required files not found in same folder.

i.e. You should extract all files to a folder first.

.

the error "REQUIRED FILES NOT FOUND" also has been fixed.

the script should work without any problem now.

.

as i said earlier that i m not a hardcore programmer, so there are some exceptions of the script.

.

thanks for understanding!

do you really think I haven't tested the script? I went through with the test using the script version 1.5 which was working without any issues. When I saw this thread about IDM Hosts Files, I wanted to post the link for the Automated script which was coded by @ank91,so to find out the latest version, I searched the forum & somehow managed to get the link for version 1.6 which I assumed to be the latest & I shared the same link. After sharing the said link, when i was going through the comments on the thread, @child pointed about the aforementioned error with the registry path in serialx64.reg. ;)

FYI the error is fixed with the Latest Build V1.8! have a look @ post#13 & #17

thanks! glad you are happy.

:)

chrome flag this .zip as malicious because it contains a ".cmd" (executable) file.

Next time i will make it a double zipped file (zip file inside a zip file).

no, you don't need to put the SERIALx86.reg in the IDM installation folder. basically when the IDM Host's Batch script automates the registration info, it takes the data either from SERIALx86.reg OR from SERIALx64.reg reg key depending upon the system architecture! :P

@del4no

You have nothing to do with "SERIALx86.reg" or "SERIALx64.reg" . These files are used (once) during activation process.

Once you are fully activated ; you can delete these files(or backup for future installation) .

You will not need to copy/paste any file. Everything is automated.

.

;)

thanks!
