Five Reasons I'd Rather Run Windows 8 Than Linux

For an average user like me, i find linux difficult to navigate

Moreover, microsoft office and endnote does not run on linux and this makes me difficult to shift

i agree with you on that , to go deeper in that , i suggest to linux fun to open the windows (hehe) and realize that the days of "terminal" in order to obtain action is long over !!!! we love GUI we will use ONLY gui !!..... imagine you need to run terminal command on smartphone ... who will use them ??? NOONE

What are you talking about? Terminal????? Have you even used a Linux lately? Terminal is now just like a cmd in windows. Your knowledge of Linux is 20 years behind. Google up Linux Mint 16, Ubuntu, Pear OS, Netrunner and then stop embarrassing yourself.

and yes i am using ubuntu and in some cases u need the fucken terminal in order to kick from bad situation or install some stuff... so man... i dont know from when u did come from... but u talk nonsense :lol:

Do I? Even in windows,,you also need to use the cmd "in some cases" to fix a problem. So, what's the difference? I find the terminal fun.

Dude, let's take the case of the Windows 8. The driver issues with Windows 8 are much more difficult to fix than Linux driver problems even with all those eye candy interface on the Win 8. So, your argument is not valid. Fancy GUI does not make any OS a better OS. Look again at Win 8. A lot of people is thrashing it.

Why this is news I have no idea. There's nothing newsworthy in this article, just one person's opinionated rant about how he's too stupid to do anything without Windows. Apparently only software that runs only on Windows are "real" applications. :rolleyes:

I can easily dispute every reason mentioned here.

This topic only proves lack of knowledge and ignorance of author.

I stopped reading the 'article' - if you can call it that - once his rant included servers. The rant about Linux on desktops was bad enough, but when somebody *actually* tries to promote Windows server over RHEL/CentOS/SUSE/Debian, I think we all know who's lining that idiot's pockets. :mad2:

Wtf? He is just saying that Windows is easy to use and configure, he didn't say that Windows is better than Linux, nor that Windows is best for server. He`s saying that Windows is easy to use (everyone can use!!!!). Linux not, Linux sometimes we need some knowledge, sometimes some update just goes wrong and without knowledge it`s hard to make things work. Windows is easy, even a monkey can use!!

I use both Windows and Linux, and love both, I customize my Linux, etc, but I need use Windows sometimes.

Many people agree Linux don't run many heavy softwares, now it`s getting better Linux is getting some support for graphics cards and the games will be launched for Linux too. Linux is good for everything, superior in many things I did say, not in all.

So..

Windows -> is for home users that don`t want to learn how the OS works, and that want use programs (like notepad, firefox and of course heavy programs like Autocad, etc), programmers, etc, everyone can use Windows...

Linux -> is for people that want something new, that want to learn, that want a good, stable and fast computer, Linux is in everywhere, smartphones, dvd players, TV, etc, even Mac is a *nix variant..... Linux is good in many aspects but let`s agree for home users when things go wrong Linux is a mess..

I`m not saying that Linux or Windows is better, just that everyone will prefer one or other. And we must repect everyone.
