Thanks for the update.

I have a question.
What is the difference setup " gup4setup.exe " between " gu4setup.exe "
- Pro or Free?

The first post gives a simple version no Pro.

Yes. Pro has a trial limit and a nag screen. Free has no time limit but many features are locked. If you already know you're going to insert a serial, it doesn't really matter which one you download/install. Registering in either one of them removes all the limitations.

My Glary Utilities has been auto update itself even if "Check for software updates automatically" has been uncheck. How to stop it from auto update using host file? because I don't have any idea what IP address and host name to put in. I know it's much easier using firewall but I personally don't like firewall installed in my PC.

-Need help here.. :(

if "Check for software updates automatically" - what the wonder of the thing you have, which have a so named a button or checkbox somewhere. Or what do you want exactly disable - Glary Utilities renewal (it isn't automatical) or prohibit software updates search?

All I want is to disable it from auto update by itself. I've already uncheck the "Check for software updates automatically" since v4.1.0.61 and by the time v4.5.0.89 has been released later on there's a pop-up icon of Glary appeared in tray. :o

Open registry editor (Run => regedit => OK or Winkey + R => regedit => OK),

Find this key (you must have administrator's rights)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Glarysoft\Glary Utilities 4\Settings

Find "Settings" => Open it => find on right panel "AutoSoftupdate"

Doule left mouse click on it and replace 1 => 0 => click "OK"

Done.

If that does not help, open the program folder
(C:\Program Files (x86)\Glary Utilities 4 -IF 64bit Windows- or C:\Program Files\Glary Utilities 4 - IF 32bit Windows)

Find these two files and rename for example:
CheckUpdate.exe => CheckUpdate_exe
SoftwareUpdate.exe => SoftwareUpdate_exe

Thank you so much for these very detailed instructions. I hope Glary will never auto update again. You save me from confusion.. Thanksssss :wub:

Edit: It seems AutoSoftupdate already in value of "0" after "Check for software updates automatically" has been uncheck. So maybe the simplest and far most effective is by renaming the said files "CheckUpdate.exe" & "SoftwareUpdate.exe". One last question.. Is it ok if I permanently delete those files instead of renaming it?
