Back in November, Microsoft rolled out KB2862330 for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 in order to patch some security flaws found in the two operating systems.

In the end, the update actually caused more problems to users, so Microsoft today issues a new version of the patch that should correct all known glitches.

“The re-released update addresses an issue in the original offering that caused the KB2862330 update to fail or only partially install on some systems with third-party USB drivers. If you are running an affected system, you will be re-offered the new update and we encourage you to install it at the earliest opportunity,” Microsoft explained.

Plenty of users have already confirmed that their Windows 7 PCs got affected by the flaw, so it’s vital for them to install the new version of the bulletin as soon as possible, especially if they’ve experienced problems recently.
