Top 10 videos of 2013: iPhone, Galaxy S4, HTC One and Xperia Z dominate charts

Our most popular videos over the last 12 months have featured several smartphone comparisons or showing off key features of devices, as V3 readers flock to watch the latest mobiles being demoed and how they size up against one another.

Top of the leaderboard for 2013 is our comparison of the previous generation iPhone 5 against HTC's latest flagship, the One. The HTC One was unveiled in February and was the top Android handset on the market at the time, featuring a number of custom camera and software innovations that made it entirely unique and original. However, it has since been superseded by the Galaxy S4 from Samsung and Nexus 5 from Google.

Meanwhile the iPhone 5 was Apple's current flagship smartphone, viewed as the benchmark by which many people judge and compare any new smartphone, as evidenced by the Sony Xperia Z versus iPhone 5 head to head video taking slot two on our list.

V3 viewers were also keen to see unique features of popular smartphones put to the test, with our video demos of the S4's EyeScroll feature and the Xperia Z's waterproof claims both proving popular.

But it wasn't all smartphones during 2013. We also managed to get some footage of the Papertab tablet in action at the CES show in January, which proved a hit with readers. Developed by Plastic Logic, which has worked with Intel Labs and Queen's University to develop the technology, the tablet is powered by a second generation Intel Core i5 processor and aims to replace the need for paper.
