Windows-9-Design-Has-Metro-Style-Gadgets

Microsoft removed the desktop gadgets in Windows 8, claiming that they were insecure and could lead to major vulnerabilities of the modern system, but it’s no secret that users actually liked them a lot.

A new Windows 9 concept created by DeviantArt user SoftwarePortalPlus comes with a modern interpretation of the good old gadgets, adopting a modern design style that’s pretty much in line with Microsoft’s new language adopted for Windows 8.

A redesigned taskbar with a flat look and transparency, as well as new desktop icons for the built-in tools, such as My Computer, users, SkyDrive, and Recycle Bin are also part of the concept.

Of course, chances are that Microsoft will most likely ignore this concept, but at least it’s a sign that users want the old gadget system back in Windows.

Probably, but I bet for desktop users (there will be a bunch of us out there) there will be a method for non-touch as well.

Really though, that's a nice concept.

Exactly what metro should have been from the get go, why they decided on two home screens is beyond me.

Agreed.

Again, agreed. You can imagine touchscreens on laptops, but not on PCs. In addition to that, touch based monitors already exists, but are quite expensive and have their own problems, like, in order to make it cost efficient, they are not suitable of a monitors for gaming.

as i said before...microsoft may not understand the gamers and their needs or requirements... I am running win8.1 here ,,,hp notebook and i boot to the old style desktop and seldom go to the apps screen as i do not have touch screen computer ...not a gamer either but i know gamers and they still want XP or win7 but mostly because they have their systems configured how they want them for games and just do not see the need to move up the OS ladder.... when things work, why fix it
