The April 2009 VB100 results have been out, with testing on a Windows XP Pro SP3 bed.

Interesting to note that Symantec has not failed the test since 2000

Products that failed the VB100 April 2009 test:

AEC (Trustport) (Failure reason: 10 wildlist misses)

eEye (Failure reason: 11 wildlist misses)

Filseclab (Failure reason: 53 wildlist misses, 21 false positives)

Finport (Failure reason: 266 wildlist misses, 12 false positives)

K7 Computing (Failure reason: 2 false positives)

MicroWorld (Failure reason: 4 wildlist misses)

Norman (Failure reason: 10 wildlist misses)

PC Tools AntiVirus (Failure reason: 12 wildlist misses)

PC Tools Internet Security (Failure reason: 12 wildlist misses)

PC Tools Spyware Doctor (Failure reason: 12 wildlist misses)

Rising (Failure reason: 10 false positives)

This just isn't acceptable:

Finport (Failure reason: 266 wildlist misses)

How can you be missing that many Wildlist malware? There is less than 500 items on that list :wacko: . So thats HALF the list that isn't detected?

Not surprised by PC Tools Security Suite 2009, heres what I said about it in another website:

In my opinion, an absolutely shocking security suite...

Does not even incorporate Threatfire which is their own software...

Uses old scanning engine, real-time protection, and heusterics...and firewall needs to be improved

Takes too much RAM, slows boot time and general pc usage...

Why? because Symantec knew PC Tools used to make good software and this was a threat to them, so symantec bought them out, turned them into zombies :dunno: ...RIP PC Tools :wut:
