geeteam
Since the release of Windows 8, Microsoft decided to remove the start button from the OS.Ever since, a lot of developers has used that as an advantage to create apps to bring back the start bottom. Microsoft thought of this and brought it back in Windows 8.1, yet still users are not appreciating it, and still want a start bottom app to replace Microsoft's start bottom. I have come across a lot of start bottom apps - used most of them.Day inn and Day out more and more start bottom apps is been released. Which is the BEST? Roger D
StartIsBack..or StartIsBack+ :) Simple, light, fully featured and exact copy of Windows 7 Start button :showoff:Always the best... Edited October 26, 2013 by Roger D
Ponting
Lol...IMHO...StartIsBack/StartIsBack+ is the best..very light and unobtrusive..it made me switch from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 OS ...You can see my favourite apps in sig..In a Microsoft default OS, I've found that the Windows Updates shortcut does not allow one to pin it to Start Menu - have been dragging-n-dropping it into StartIsBack, without complaints.SIB is the best so far from what I've tried before, because it not run as services and still can see it on safe mode.  :) Edited October 26, 2013 by NSFfan

SlimRock
for me no start button Alternatives. Get used to new Start Screen, it's much better than decade old Start Button. IMHO using Old Start Buttons Menu in Windows 8/8.1 is like using symbian OS in your mobile phone when you have better options like ios, Android, Windows Phone 8. Dont stick to old theory, Start Exploring new possibilities thats the way to go.
