Matsuda
Another Patch Tuesday, more trouble for Windows users. This time, some consumers are complaining that one of the bulletins released by Microsoft is causing a conflict with other .NET updates, so they are again asked to download and install some previous updates.Users are reporting on Microsoft’s Community forums that MS13-08 could break down .NET 3.5 on Windows XP SP3, with no fix available at this point. Here’s a message posted by one of the affected users:“I just ran the patch Tuesday barrage on Windows XP SP3. As happens around 50% of the time .NET is updated, it causes a conflict with previous .NET updates. In this specific case, the new update must be MS13-082 as that is the only one that appears to update .NET 3.5. Since rebooting, I am now permanently offered .NET 3.5 SP1 and the Family Update for .NET 2.0-3.5 again with reference KB951847. A search of the knowledge base shows that this is probably MS11-100, since that provided the files that this new update is replacing.”Several other users have already confirmed the issue, so it turns out that it’s only happening on Windows XP, as Windows 7 workstations appear to be updated just fine.Source
eurobyn
you run updates on xp ? i think ms have made it clearly to upgrade. yes in now. but i think there is no way back to upgrade at this time. ms is pushing us all to the new os.and what is see is that this would be the only thing you can do. if i could say go to at least windows 7 , xp is to be forgotten ms way. i'm running ms windows 8.1. and i love it. !!! with start is back + !!!so i see no problems after updating (ms way) i hope some will get it after updating a very old (almost forgotten xp (ms)) ms is intended to let you upgrade .sorry for the bad englisch (for a dutch guy)
