Fix Corrupted Winsock In Windows 7

. Reboot your computer into Safe Mode (with Networking).

2. Open regedit and delete the following two keys and all their subs:
HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/Services/Winsock
HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/Services/Winsock2


3. Copy the new reg files from the download (files at bottom of article) onto the trouble computer, winsock.reg and winsock2.reg (unzip/unpack and burn them to a disc or use a usb flash drive to copy them.)

4. Double-click on each one and allow it to be entered into the registry.

5. Reboot your computer again and let it start up normally (non-safe mode).

Your Internet connection should be working as normal now...
