Beyond: Two Souls demo available now

Previously described by Sony as "a generous trial of the game", the demo features two levels. In the first players "join a very young Jodie as she takes part in an experiment at the Department of Paranormal Activities, and officials put her abilities to the test".

The second level skips forward a few years and tasks players with helping "Jodie escape the clutches of government agents as the mysterious entity unleashes its truly astonishing powers".

Sony has confirmed a Beyond: Two Souls release date of October 8 in the US and October 11 in the UK.

According to Sony Computer Entertainment Europe EMEA brand manager Ross Alexander, the European version of Beyond: Two Souls was edited to ensure the game secured a PEGI 16 rating.

"There are only two amends between the EU and US versions of the game, amounting to about 5-10 seconds of gameplay that's not been removed, just edited slightly," he said in an official statement.

"I can assure you that this does not affect the game's story at all, and that if you didn't know these scenes had been amended, you wouldn't even notice."
