Matsuda
Every Netflix subscriber now has access to the company's "Super HD" video streams, regardless of what internet service provider they may have. Previously, so-called Super HD movies and TV shows were only available from ISPs that have partnered with Netflix as a part of its Open Connect distribution push, which began in January. "Based on the performance data we’ve seen, and in response to member requests, we are now expanding availability to give all our members the ability to enjoy Netflix in the best possible quality," the company said on Thursday.Still, to tap into Super HD video — which is delivered at a resolution of 1080p — you'll need to be streaming Netflix from one of a specific set of devices, including Apple TV, Roku, Wii U, Windows 8 computers, and the Sony PlayStation 3.
