amor.love
"He claims that Microsoft is planning to bring the old Aero interface back, but not as we all know it." Feeling skeptical now :/ Personally, best aero was from the windows 8 development times, before it got axed. Looked so 'modern' to me apposed to what ms finally settled as the new modern :D

Paft
Thing is, 8 isn't a fail...just the forced touch interface is, not the entire OS. You can completely ignore it exists with StartIsBack.Like all default Windows themes, Aero is as ugly as a tramps arsehole. I don't know how anyone can stay on default themes long term.edit: You don't have to use a email login....there's an option not to. And again: StartIsBack. It's not like disabling and removing shit from Windows is a new thing. IE, Media Player, Movie Maker, Outlook, Media Center, UAC all have to go/disable for me anyway. It's just 1 more thing on the list, no big deal. Edited September 6, 2013 by Paft

Administrator DKT27 Posted September 6, 2013 Administrator Share Posted September 6, 2013 Aero is as ugly as a tramps arsehole. Not Aero. It's just 1 more thing on the list, no big deal. It's highly incorrect to compare Aero with something as sh*t as IE, MP, or UAC.Currently, I've brought back Aero on my Windows 8, which looks great with it. And I'll use Aero in Windows 8.1 too, because, yeah, Windows 8 and 8.1's default themes are just nonsense.

I think I might have tried beta version before.I was clearly referring to "disabling" Metro by using StartIsBack.Microsoft always fall short in design. Aero was a nice fresh look but they failed by still using ugly rounded corners and fat borders (yes, you can reduce - border padding) since XP. I dislike rounded corners in GUIs because you can see the pixels. They finally realised in 8 that squared corners looks cleaner and windows just fit together better (remember how clean classic looks?)....yet failed again in the looks department. Grey for inactive....seriously?Ah, fine enough. For me, rounded corners were alright, only problem I had was that taking individual window pics had those empty pixels there. I fully agree with you about grey for inactive, Microsoft should really concentrate on changing that default look.
MidnightDistortions
Honestly i don't like the new style. Rounded looks better then square but if it's a preference thing then MS should be promoting customization instead of a forced format. This article sounds like nothing more then just a rumor though. MS said they would return the start menu but all they did was put back the button which doesn't look appealing. The great thing about W7 i don't need to touch the UI at all to make it better (well other then the little mouse and keyboard tweaks).

MidnightDistortions
Interface options and customization; that will be like 5 years worth of work for them. MS' development cycle is sooo slow. Thank god for 3rd party themes.
