I need an ebook and I have tried all the suggestions here in this forum for ebook links and others not mentioned there. The book is not present in any of those sites databases.

Do any of you have access to an excellent university database...I mean excellent university databases like UCLA, SOAS, Cambridge (England), or the like?

If you do...could you download the ebook for me, it would save me $100 or more. My university has a very good database, but not extensive enough for this feat unfortunately. If it is not doable, then I will have to just bite the bullet and pay money, ugh. Google Books has been helpful, but important pages are missing.

The ebook is: The Meroitic Language and Writing System by Claude Rilly and Alex De Voogt

Hi, locoJoe!

Thanks for the downloads. It is a major bummer that you could not find it either. Your efforts are appreciated. Maybe someone will be able to help...I hope, I hope.

.djvu or .djv is an image file extension used to store scanned documents...it can be converted to .pdf online or by software on your pc. I have converted many .djvu/ .djv objects to .pdf. So, yes I am very familiar, hahaha

"DjVu (pronounced "déjà vu") is a digital document format with advanced compression technology and high performance value. DjVu allows for the distribution on the Internet and on DVD of very high resolution images of scanned documents, digital documents, and photographs. DjVu viewers are available for the web browser, the desktop, and PDA devices." ~ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DjVu, ~ http://djvu.org/

The Meroitic Language and Writing System by Claude Rilly and Alex De Voogt

http://ebookoid.com has it... only $0.79

I am not trusting of this site...

"Ebookoin.net or Ebookoin.com - bad, bad, bad. It posts certain books in pdf format that have pages missing, are of extremely poor scan quality, and are absolutely identical to other free download sites. They likely steel from other free sites, then sell downloads to you for a price. It's theidentical scam followed by some Ebay resellers, like [email protected]" ~ OnnoM - http://www.webutation.net/go/review/ebookoid.com
I thank you for the effort though. That sounded to good to be true and apparently it is. Basically, I would be paying for what I could get from Google Books for free, not cool ebookoid.
Still looking for help if anyone can...thanks! :)

I have ordered (through "my wishlist" there) and bought several NEW ebooks from that site.

Of course thousands of OLD ebooks there are identical with other sites, but you can download them for FREE.

Btw, I am just a satisfied customer :)

Thanks everyone for your much appreciated help. I managed to squeeze out of Google Books what I wanted from the missing page by cleverly crafted word searches within the book preview itself. Again, great thanks to everyone for being awesome and helping with this.

Also, now I need help with two more books, hahahaha

This one might be tough. It is Christopher Ehret's, "Reconstructing Proto-Afroasiatic (Proto-Afrasian):Vowels, Tone, Consonants, and Vocabulary".

The second book is expensive it is between $200 to $300..."The Ancient Egyptian Book of Thoth: A Demotic Discourse on Knowledge and Pendant to the Classical Hermetica"

Any, if any, help would be much appreciated. I already have Orel and Stolbova's book. I haave been to every ebook site recommended on the ebooks list posted in this forum and even some that are not, torrent sites included and had no luck. Maybe some of you know places I didn't or was unable to look.

Hello AdyTChabadi,

I have something about ~400 pages of ""The Ancient Egyptian Book of Thoth", (vol.1) carefully grabbed from Google Books. Right now all pages are in separate *png files.

I still hope that I'll be able to grab few dozens more. =) because Google rotates available pages.

If you have some pages I don't have, I would be glad if you'd share with me; and I would be glad to send you the pages I currently have.

So just get in touch :)

Hi, Intaier!

You nearly have the whole book (581 pages), hahaha. I often wondered why, sometimes, different pages where available at different times. I would search a book in one instance and had access to a page, but then in another instance would not have access to that page. Eureka! They rotate the availability of pages! Thank you for that info. That is currently the situation with Mr. Ehret's Afroasiatic opus. I had access to some pages and now I don't. I feel stupid that I did not save them when I had the chance.

About the "The Ancient Egyptian Book of Thoth", hmmm, what pages do you need?

I will see if I can get them for you.

I was mostly interested in the Glossary section.
