  2. An arrested man is reportedly Libyan - and police say there is no link to the peaceful BLM protest held at the site hours earlier. Three people have died in what is believed to have been a terror-related incident in Reading. One person has been arrested and Sky News' home affairs correspondent Mark White has been told that early indications are the incident was terrorism. Sky understands there have been three fatalities, but this has not been confirmed by police or emergency services. Image:Several air ambulances arrived at the scene. Pic: @Cogp79 Image:Pic: @Cogp79 The Press Association is reporting that the arrested man is Libyan, Graphic video has appeared on social media of at least two bloodied people being given CPR. Authorities have urged people not to share such content. A witness told of how he saw a man walk up to a group of about 10 people and stab some of them in the neck and under the arms. Lawrence Wort said the attack looked "completely random". Witness: I saw man walk up to group of friends and start stabbing people in neck Thames Valley Police said: "Police attended at around 7pm along with other emergency services. Officers arrested a man at the scene who is now in police custody. "A number of people sustained injuries and were taken to hospital. "A police cordon is in place in Forbury Gardens as officers investigate. We are asking the public to avoid the area at this time." Local media are reporting armed police are at the scene, while images have emerged of police at a block of flats in Reading where a suspect was apparently held. Mark White said: "There are images circulating of an armed operation at a block of flats on the edges of this park. We have not had it officially confirmed that that is linked to the man. "The suggestion from journalists at the scene in Reading is that the arrest which involved armed police at this block of flats in Reading is linked to the incident and is linked to the man who is now in custody." Prime Minister Boris Johnson tweeted: "My thoughts are with all of those affected by the appalling incident in Reading and my thanks to the emergency services on the scene." A peaceful Black Lives Matter protest took place at the park earlier today. Police say the attack was not connected to the protest. BLM protest organiser Nieema Hassan said in a video message posted to Facebook: "They were very peaceful and we worked with the police liaison. "In terms of the protest and the people who attended from Black Lives Matter, we're all safe. None of us are affected. We had all left by the time this happened." Freelance journalist Claire Gould told the Press Association she saw the emergency air ambulance vehicles land on the nearby Kings Meadow as a police helicopter circled overhead. She described hearing lots of sirens and said surrounding roads and a retail park had been cordoned off by officers. Reading Council tweeted: "Please stay clear of the town centre. The police are dealing with a major incident. We will update you once we know more." Witness Poornima Ravindran tweeted: "Walking back from the grocery run from Tesco napier road and saw emergency services performing CPR on someone in forbury gardens . I counted 4 squad cars arrive followed by police vehicle and ambulance. What's happening!!!" Home Secretary Priti Patel tweeted: "Deeply concerned to hear reports of an incident in Reading. My thoughts are with everyone involved, including police and emergency responders at the scene." Labour deputy leader Angela Rayner tweeted: "Can people please stop sharing videos in the media of the alleged incident, it is incredibly upsetting for both the victims and their families. Let our emergency services respond now." Source
  3. As you can see, the service/app Readmill will shutdown, this makes me and others book lovers very sad because there isn't any other service/app that can compete with this amazing service! iBooks, Marvin, Aldiko, Bluefire? All lame compared to Readmill. We are orphans now! Anyone knows a good service, now that Dropbox KILLED Readmill?
  4. I need an ebook and I have tried all the suggestions here in this forum for ebook links and others not mentioned there. The book is not present in any of those sites databases. Do any of you have access to an excellent university database...I mean excellent university databases like UCLA, SOAS, Cambridge (England), or the like? If you do...could you download the ebook for me, it would save me $100 or more. My university has a very good database, but not extensive enough for this feat unfortunately. If it is not doable, then I will have to just bite the bullet and pay money, ugh. Google Books has been helpful, but important pages are missing. The ebook is: The Meroitic Language and Writing System by Claude Rilly and Alex De Voogt
