During the next year, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will be stepping down, said in a press release.

Management Corporation has formed a special committee, which will deal with finding a successor to Ballmer. The last and he will be involved in the process of selecting a new leader.

In a letter to Microsoft employees Ballmer said he was proud of the achievements of the company. Ever since he joined the company in 1980, Microsoft revenue rose from 7.5 million to nearly $ 78 billion, and the number of employees increased from 30 to a hundred thousand.

Ballmer also said that the company was waiting for important changes. July 11 he announced a reorganization in which a part of Microsoft will create several new teams, and for the development of the entire corporation will be developed a common strategy. Microsoft shares in early trading Aug. 23 rose by almost seven percent.

CEO Steve Ballmer is working with Microsoft in January 2008. He took the post after that year, retired founder Bill Gates. Ballmer came to the company in June 1980 at the invitation of Gates, with whom he studied at Harvard University.

During his time at Microsoft, Steve Ballmer became a billionaire and one of the regular participants of the list of the richest people in the world according to Forbes. In the March 2013 edition of the state Ballmer estimated 15.2 billion dollars. Forbes also called Ballmer most unusual and hard-working billionaire in the world. The magazine highlighted the bizarre manner of speaking Ballmer, due to which the manager was called "monkey-boy» (monkey boy).
