guy8
Main TestsThose are the main tests of AV-Comparatives released every 3 months. They are usually splitted into “on-demand” detection rate tests and “retrospective/proactive” detection rate tests. Malware detection rate is still one of the most important , deterministic and reliable factors of an Anti-Virus engine which works also without asking for user interaction/decision/opinion...Link: http://www.av-comparatives.org/comparativesreviewsP.S. You have to download the main test
guy8
Did I do this right? This seems to be the only legit anti-virus testing site. Others, like top10, seem to place the anti-virus that paid them the most on top Norton, Eset, Kaspersky and McAfee all got the Advanced+ rank.To me, it seems like norton did a tiny bit better than eset and kaspersky. So if you're considering getting an anti-virus I recommend any of those four.
czullo
In my opinion norton win this test, it have highest detection rate from all AD+, norton is faster than other and take only 10MB of RAM. Norton 2009/360 3.0 is the best security solution for now.
guy8
I know many people still have doubt about Norton being slow and stuff, but it has really changed.
czullo
From 2008 Norton became light, but in 2009 line there was revolution, nowdays ESET takes 40-60MB of ram while norton takes 6-10MB, and scaning is faster than in ESET family. Everybody who say norton 2009/360 3.0 is crap dont even try it.

Everybody who say norton 2009/360 3.0 is crap dont even try it.I disagree. Norton 360 isnt crap, but it's definitely not as good some others that I've tried. This seems to be the only legit anti-virus testing site. Others, like top10, seem to place the anti-virus that paid them the most on top;) I was thinking the exact same thing. top10 makes profit off of these tests which is how they rank the products. I think they said BitDefender was the best AV, nu uh I dont think so.Nice post by the way :s► Rock Lee

Administrator Lite Posted March 28, 2009 Administrator Share Posted March 28, 2009 The next test like this one will be in 6 months time. There is a continuation of this one (testing for example the heuristics) in 3 month.

LeetPirate
If there were a better fix for NAV2009 I would give it a try. :) It is very good and very fast indeed.
