HTC has officially announced the HTC One mini after a series of leaks and tweets hinting at the device's arrival. On the outside, the handset looks a lot like the One with its aluminum chassis, but on the inside it’s basically a reprise of the company’s failed Facebook-branded HTC First.

The 132 × 63.2 × 9.25 mm One mini sports a 4.3-inch 720p LCD3 display and has most of the same software features as its larger counterpart, including BlinkFeed and the UltraPixel camera with Zoe and video highlights. Inside, it has a 1.4GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 with 1GB of RAM—the same specifications featured on the HTC First—as well as a 4MP rear-facing camera and 1.6MP front-facing camera. There’s also a 1800 mAh battery pack fueling the device and 16GB of internal storage. Fortunately, HTC will pack up the One mini with Android 4.2.2 and Sense 5.

There’s no word on when the HTC One mini will come to the US, but HTC says that it will be available “in select markets” beginning in August, with a global rollout following in September.
