LeetPirate Posted March 20, 2009 Share Posted March 20, 2009 For many of you who use Skype, you may have noticed that they have strict but stupid hardware requirements for the program to allow HQ video. First up it requires 1 of 3 Logitech webcams then you need a dual core cpu as well as you need to have your pc running on maximum performance mode (power management off). Those requirements are stupid and you should not need to have your cpu running at 100% when skype only uses a small part of it.Anyway there is a clever program on nodewave.com that forces Skype to use HQ video. Of course to be able to get it your webcam has to be capable of the required resolution but atleast you are not forced to purchase a Logitech if you have another capable webcam.Link: http://www.nodewave.com/software/ForceSkypeHQVideo/.
