donizme
Even with the release of Firefox 3.1 Beta 3, rivals Safari 4 beta and Chrome (latest stable) are quicker in javascript tests.... In one measure of 'HowToCreate's CSS rendering test' Firefox got 0.93! lower than IE7 <_< For this test the base index for IE7 in javascript benchmark is 1.0, so if a browser gets 2.3, it is 230% quicker than IE7! get it?Results:1st: Safari 4 Beta: 14.392nd: Google Chrome: 11.623rd: Firefox 3.1 Beta 3: 7.854rth: Opera 10 Alpha: 5.385th: IE8 RC1: 2.196th: IE7: 1.0Yes I know firefox is still in beta, but Mozilla have comfirmed that no significant changes will be made now through to the final release (only bug fixes)...oh and btw... Firefox will be changing its name from 3.1 to 3.5 in the final release...Also, Safari 4 is beta!!!! It will get even better since they will continue to improve their 'Nitro' Javascript engine...On the bright side, Safari 4 beta takes at least 100mb when open! maybe because of its new 'cover flow' and other features...Firefox 3.1b3 JavaScript outpaced by Safari 4, Google Chrome

KilJaden
Safari has a gay interface :DLike all Mac products the interface is glossy, but not gay, and since most of users here at nsane are crazy about glossy Ui's i don't think some of them would agree.I for one just that says it fits right in the general Mac picture. mana
safari might be fastest in this test but the impact of safari on system ram is un acceptable, i mean mostly it takes any where between 120 - 200 mb of ram. while fire fox with many ad ons included seldom cross 80 mb. safari feels very heavy and is slow regarding many things. so unless this problem is solved i dont see it making any progress. just remember what happened to vista. When I first started to look at different browsers I too tried Safari. Like some alreadysaid, the interface is gay, ram is compromised, it just isnt a good ui. If you look, Chrome isnt too farbehind Safari in terms of speed &+ the ram isnt eaten up. The only thing Chrome needs is addons...

demonon
I don't believe this test, it must be flawed.Opera for one is faster then Firefox when it comes to page rendering. Especially the 10.0 alpha with presto 2.2 is faster then firefox.

(as some would say)the way cahe is managed and pages load in real time- Opera wins out of all hands down (chrome is very simmilar performance in this area, but gay appearance !) A web page isn't made only on javascript , and for me at least on a fast connection i don't see any difference in rendering speed , especially with the new presto engine in 10 alpha .
