Ok so Im buying a new motherboard and I ordered the processor and the memory ram. But as I did more research on it I saw that the ram is actually very small but its for a desktop, and the one thing that worried me is that it says it will only fit a lenovo desktop computer. Please tell me if it will fit or not, thanks... The memory's name is Kingston KTL-TCM58BS/2G its DDR3 2GB.

This RAM is System Specific Model. Made for IBM-Lenovo products. It won't work for other PCs.

I suggest you to go for refund. If you need to buy RAM for Assembled PC, then you must get Kingston ValueRAM Models

This will fit, but crashes frequently because the memory won't be allocated properly. System Specific RAM is made for the motherboards of unique type. And when the problem arises, even if you go for RMA, they won't accept. You'll be in trouble! Better go for refund and choose the best model suited from kingston site and then search for buying. Note: Take Screenshots of the seller description and then go for refund. It'll be helpful if the seller tries to cheat!

And you said it looks small, Kingston/other branded RAM will look smaller[slim] in size. So don't worry about the looks. Just check SODIMM[Laptops] or DIMM[Desktop]

If it works for a little while its good for me because it was only $13. Later on I will buy another one.

Are u mad! It won't work even for 2 months straight. If you go for return[refund] earlier, you can get your whole money back. You could save.

Ok I contacted the seller and gave him the specs of the motherboard. He said he will see if its compatible if not he will refund my money.

This is what he said... "According to the spec page, this RAM will work with the motherboard. You can open one and give it a test. If, for some reason it doesn't work with the motherboard, I will take it back and refund your purchase."

Your choice, if you keep the RAMs or get a refund. I've dealt with my share of RAMs in my days too and my gut feeling says you should ask for a refund and get the real deal, like vissha said...

Better safe, then sorry, as the saying goes. :) ^_^

  • 2 weeks later...

So the computer has been working good for a week. I just don't know how its going to fail, I mean its 1333 MHz just as the motherboard specified and its DDR3. I guess I will just keep it if it ever fails I will tell you guys so nobody does this same mistake as I did.

It is still working fine so if anyone is thinking of buying a memory ram like this just double check all the specs and buy it.
