TorrentScan, one of the oldest BitTorrent meta-search engines, has shut down voluntarily.

A few months ago the site moved from the torrentscan.com domain to tscan.mg and a few hours ago the site stopped working.

“Tscan is now permanently closed,” a message on the site’s homepage now reads.

In addition to the website the Twitter account was also deleted.

The site’s owner informed TorrentFreak that he is no longer motivated to maintain the site.

“I decided to close the site due to a lack of interest and time. There are more important things for me right now,” he told us.

He might have some personal reasons.

Either way, Torrentz and Bitsnoop might be good alternatives.
