Hi dear nsaners.I have a realy anoying problem.Since like yesterday in PowerDirector when i started the app and preparing my project for rendering and after choosing the render setting in the Produce Tab menu is gives me a very anoying popup that i have to activate h264 and Mpeg-2 codecs for free. After trying to do that it says that i cant because my serial number is invalid.

When i installed PowerDirector, everything worked fine, the activation/keygen and all that jazz.I will provide u with some screenshots but right now im rendering a video in PowerDirector in .wmv format because i cant in .mp4 like i always do,because of this stupid problem. And in mp4 it goes so fast, the rendering process :).

So pls guess if any1 knows on how to fix this.....? I did tryed to reinstall with no succes.

In v10 of PD there was that workaround, it can be different in the v11:

The components H264, MPEG2 and BD must be enabled separately. The activation is stored in the main directory in the Simkey file.

With a hex editor, change the following:

0x00CF from 23 to 76 // No Serial
0x0B5B from D3 to 46 // H264
0x0B65 from 1F to CA // MPEG2
0x0B79 from FB to EE // BD

The position specification - for example 0x001F in the Hex Editor - is a hexadecimal number that numbers the bits in pairs. In a row (mostly) 16-bit pare are displayed. So let's say the last digit F here, that it is the 16th pair, so the last two bits in the 2nd row. In what line the said bits are now indicates the remaining digits: 001 -> The 2nd line (because counting is started at zero)

I had the same problem, the simkey file was involved. I just downloaded one from a torrent and it fixed the problem.

Thanks n0_risk for explanation of the structure of this file :) could be useful for newer versions !!

Hi guys,

I must be a total idiot, but I can't find this so-called 'Simkey' file anywhere in my install directory, nor on my computer that is. (only the one I downloaded as suggested above, and when I put that in C:\Program Files (x86)\Cyberlink , nothing changes to the problem.

Any ideas where I should find it ?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Ahum... I really am an idiot, I searched many times in the past few weeks, and finally decided to post and ask. Of course I found it 5 minutes later. It is not in C:\Program Files (x86)\Cyberlink, but in C:\Program Files\Cyberlink....

Sorry!
