ESET v4 Fixes

Recommended Posts

The update problems are caused by ESET releasing another BIG update(17.something MB) and their server are heaving high loads. This will be resolved in a few days. So these problems have nothing to do with the fix(es).

I'm at 3994 myself as well, please don't worry about small problems like this.

@guig

Your problems are caused by the above mentioned. Your retail can only convert to trial after a first update, please wait a day or two.

Except for 3995 which has to be update manually, 3996 and 3997 update automatically.

As such, its Eset server minor hiccup. No problem, just be patience if it does not updates sometime. :hehe:

I use MiNodlogin 3.3.01and Nodlogin 9.9b. :hehe: :P

Everything worked fine, until I've got this message "Error communicating with kernel"

Does anyone knows how to get ESS working again?

Anyone have problems with V4 vista 64bit version updating?

Have marafix and nodenabler 3.0 installed.

Trial 31days.

Tried manually entering the login and password still won't let me update stuck at virus database 3993.

My other computer using V4 xp version can update fine with marafix and nodenabler virus database at 3997.

Never mind i just click upgrade to full version now its fine now I think it can update now.

Hey guys, I'm going to install ESS and would appreciate it it someone could tell me which fix is considered the best and the least hassle at this time (it's a bit confusing)! ;)

Thanks

Nodlogin would be my first choice but you will get many different opinions on this as everyone has their own personal favorite.

Thanks for your input - as I'm lead to believe that daily updates can be problematic, are some fixes better in that regard than the others?

Imo, only, of course, the license finder/inserter apps (nodlogin, minodlogin, nodenabler) are the most reliable in terms of updates for the reason that they don't have to use the evaluation servers for obtaining updates, thus they update just like full retail versions.

That makes sense to me - btw, is ESS v4 now stable enough or should I install the final build of v3?

V.4.0.417 is working better and more stable than any of the v3's did on my vista x64 system.

About Eset Box_Mara.Fix 1.1 :

Got 1st manual Update after having clicked on " Update" about 30 times. Shows now Virus signature database = 3997 (2009.04.09) and trial version expires in 31 days. Tomorrow I`ll give news. I just wish to confirm if it really auto-updates and if 31 days remain for ever.

Mine is WinXP Pro SP3 (32 bits) + ESS 4.0.417 (Home Edition). Both English versions.

ESS with Self-defense enabled.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wish me luck !
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
10th.April.2009
15 hours after (always)1st manual update, got now 2nd update (automatic) . Shows:- 3999 Virus signature database.
So....... IT WORKS !... :blink: Party all night ...and day ;)
Thanks to Box and Mara !
Well, I just got mine 3997 update. I had to click 3-4 times. I'm using box, mara- fix 1.1. I got normal update, nothing with 17 MB. Also, the strange thing is that when I click on my signature in Eset Window instead of opening web page with 3997 definitions, it opens 3948 definitions. Anyone else with the same thing?
Cheers :)
EAV v4 is definitely stable enough! ESS v4? Heard there is still some issue encounter in v4.0.314, could have been solved in 417 though!
V.4.0.417 is working better and more stable than any of the v3's did on my vista x64 system.
Good to hear, but I'm on x86. wink.gif
v4.0.417 work great on x86 too!
Cleared update cache & tried manual update & quick update to:
Virus signature database: 3997 (20090409)
Update module: 1028 (20090302)
Antivirus and antispyware scanner module: 1206 (20090409)
Advanced heuristics module: 1092 (20090309)
Archive support module: 1092 (20090324)
Cleaner module: 1040 (20090401)
Anti-Stealth support module: 1010 (20090302)
Personal firewall module: 1044 (20090121)
Antispam module: 1011 (20090114)
SysInspector module: 1211 (20090325)
Self-defense support module : 1005 (20081105)
No large update here either but I get "Update 3983 (20090402)" when clinking on my Eset sig. ver. 3997 - very strange, wtf.gif is going on.
