Administrator Lite Posted October 7, 2005 Administrator Share Posted October 7, 2005 I've seen newsreports and broadcasts from many nations, aslong as i understand the language i'll watch it.I never said anything about the UK/US media specifically. What YOU said however was YOUR media loves hype. I stated that this perticular report was from a UK based organisation.
nsane
Anywho... the media(no matter what nation) = hype machine .Theoritically they beleive that Fear = increased viewers.that shark attack thing a year or two back is a good example, that little boy got his arm bitten off and the media was stuck on the topic for 6 months or so. until that guy incharge of the national statistics came on and showed everyone you have a greater chance of a falling coconut killing you than you do of a shark actually biting you. the reporters there suddenly got some stupid look on their faces right after he said that and decided to STFU finally :dance2:to be honest, i NEVER watch the news anymore. i mean, they don't report shit, they just sit around critisizing stuff all day trying to scare people into their point of view <_>
