rahulgi
Use moz-backup to back and restore whole profiledirect link from developer site: http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/files/1.5.2-beta/MozBackup-1.5.2-beta1-EN.ziporas Ambrocious suggest, install xmarks (here), it can sync bookmarks, history, tabsOrgo to bookmarks> show all bookmark, select any item, then control+a (to select all)import and backup > export bookmark as htmland right down add-on namesBut for best performance, do a clean install and then install add-ons as requiredFirefox became sluggish with old profile

Knightmare
FEBE addon. Always export bookmarks to html and save it on flash drive etc.I also recommend FEBE. This will backup Firefox as it appears, then reapply EVERYTHING in Firefox just as it was when you ran the tool to backup your profile.

nuttertools
Please, read your PM; MozBackup - OK, MailBrowserBackup pretty much reliable; you can save your bookmarks in FF following next steps: History>Show All History> Import and Backup> Backup; if you want to restore your backup you go to (obviously) restore>choose file; FEBE + CLEO addons are also cool :-)Best Regards

BillyBootlace
Just go to ....C:\Users\your name\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox and save the Profiles folder. After reinstall of Windows ... a) Install Firefoxb) Go to C:\Users\your name\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox and replace the existing Profiles folder with the one you saved earlier. I've never had any trouble using this method. All your bookmarks and settings will be as they were before the reinstall.
Kalju
But I do not understand why you do not want to use Firefox Sync service. It's a free service and works on all Firefox versions. And most of all, You can use the Firefox also in 64-bit system. (for example Nightly, Waterfox, Aurora, Pale Moon etc)
SnakeMasteR
Firefox Sync is not a backup solution, especially the addons and their configs are all gone. MozBackup is top-notch, no crazy folder jumping, copy&pasting around, it's an easy point&click adventure and also for novice users. The best thing is, you can backup and restore a bunch of individual files and/or settings, i don't even know all of those with their specific names. You can also use MozBackup files to carry around as much browser configurations and browser setups as you want (e.g. as Mods), one click and everything is back to original state. :)
