I'm using an old video card with Hardware Acceleration turned on as in the screenshot of my first post - with an old trick. :hehe:

better share that trick or else :spank:

:P

LOL, yes - of course!!!

There are some funny aspects of Hardware Acceleration:-

01.) Some pages load only with Hardware Acceleration enabled

02.) Some pages load only with Hardware Acceleration disabled

03.) When Hardware Acceleration is disabled those tweaks need to be enabled for good text-rendering

04.) When Hardware Acceleration is enabled the tweaks mentioned on post 1 need to be disabled for good text-rendering

05.) Finally, when all above variables are fine-tuned, what looks best to me looks ugly to a Reader with good vision.

I found something (by mistake - many years ago) which removes all above restrictions while at the same time also works optimum on all kind of pages; for n00bs and Enthusiasts, alike and very importantly addresses issue # 05.) mentioned above (meaning it can be customized as per personal vision) as it has it's own GUI.

Before proceeding be sure to delete (reset) that tweak by Vishal (mozilla.widget.render-mode.)

Check out the Firefox add-on at the following link:-

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/anti-aliasing-tuner/

Result, when you set the setting to "default".

May be, but the about:config editing is working better for me.

For you, everything other than what I state will work better. ;)

Edit:

BTW, check here - maybe you'll see the root of the issue (if you want to.)
