nsane.forums
Microsoft has revealed the summary of the next security patches that will be released on Tuesday, March 12th, which will include critical updates for IE10 on Windows 8 and RT and one for Silverlight.Microsoft will be releasing a number of security software updates for a few of its products on Tuesday, March 12th as part of its regular monthly "Patch Tuesday" event. Today, the company posted its summary of what it will be releasing in a few days, which include seven bulletins, four of which are labeled as "Critical" and the other three as "Important".One of the critical bulletins concerns Internet Explorer and it affects IE6, 7, and 8 in Windows XP, IE7, 8 and 9 in Windows Vista, IE8 and 9 in Windows 7 and IE10 in Windows 8 and RT. Another "Important" bulletin will affect Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8 but not RT.Another one of the critical updates is for Microsoft Office 2010 and yet another is for Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 Service Pack 1. The last critical update is a bit of a surprise. Microsoft will fix a security issue with its Silverlight media software on Tuesday with a patch; the company has not issued a major update for Silverlight in over a year.As usual, Microsoft has not gone into detail on the specifics behind these updates so as to not alert hackers beforehand but will release that information after the patches are launched on Tuesday.View: Original Article

dcs18
IE10 on Windows 8 has more protection than IE9 and it's predecessors - can't comment about IE10 on versions lower than Windows 8. :dunno:
