Yep, I've listed out just a very brief list which can be disabled through Windows 8 manager (shall be updating that list - hey . . . . . . and autoplay.)

And, guess what, november_ra1n just helped me to get activated

He's doing a stellar job there - activation was the last thing on my mind.

Where in windows 8 manager?

Security >>----> System Security >>----> Adjust Auto Play

However, disabling autoplay is one aspect I wont suggest doing through Windows 8 Manager - wait for me to return (shall show you a trick to disable it on a multi-layer level.)

Hey, I have noticed that some features in windows 8 uses the bandwidth back my a$$. I've set windows update to manual so no problem with that. Now I want to identify those feature that uses the bandwidth and the way to turn 'em off.

Edit: Hey, I have updated my BIOS successfully this time with the utility that you have given to me.

A question: Does a virus infect a file with no extension?

Metro -You can disable live update for each tile by right-clicking it and choosing "Turn live tile off"

Also this may be of use

A question: Does a virus infect a file with no extension?

 There are options for those type of files, too - within ESET.

No no, antivirus has nothing to do with my query. Suppose, you do not have any antivirus in your PC. You have a file with no extension - I mean, you have file named fl0ppy not fl0ppy.exe or fl0ppy.dll or fl0ppy.zip. In this case, can any virus infect fl0ppy that has no extension?

I haven't installed ESET but already downloaded it. I was waiting for you to have pre and post installation guide and activation tips.

I've followed all the tweaks provided in the link but the data counter is still running and keeps on running just after I connect the web.

Alright. Now help me with ESET installation and activation.

I haven't installed ESET but already downloaded it. I was waiting for you to have pre and post installation guide and activation tips.

You must have been busy so I disabled windows defender and installed ESET but haven't activated yet. I have downloaded those 3 fixes listed in the FP so tell me what to do?

On my own systems that are carefully monitored and regulated, I prefer to use the TNoD.

On my Customers' systems, the TNoD would be a headache as the User Names and Passwords are valid for just a few months - for them, I prefer the box, mara- Trial Resetter.

Please note the TNoD can be used after ESET is installed whereas the box, mara- Trial Resetter has to be run before installing ESET and over a live internet connection.

So I have to use the TNoD now. Alright, so I have to run it before activating ESET or after activating ESET trial license?

Unless one runs TNoD - one would not be able to activate ESET. :spank:

When you're at leisure - uninstall TNoD and replace it with a portable, instead - remember to do this with all your installation (on the systems that I configure - I have 95% portables against 5% installations.)

Edit:-

Don't forget to add your TNoD in the list of your exclusions of your security systems.
