A new report claims Google plans to launch its Google Glass eyeglass technology product to the general public before the end of 2013 for less than the $1,500 price it has for the preview model.

It's been something of a busy week for Google in terms of its hardware plans. On Thursday, the company started selling its Chromebook Pixel touchscreen notebook for $1,299. It also released a new video for its Google Glass Android eyewear as well as a chance for some more members of the general public to get their hands on the pre-production model.

Today, The Verge reports that Google is aiming to launch the final public model of Google Glass sometime before the end of 2013. This is an earlier launch date than what Google co-founder Sergey Brin indicated back in June, when he said the company was aiming to launch Google Glass to consumers sometime in 2014.

As far as the price for the final version of Google Glass, all the company is saying is that it will be less than the current $1,500 model that's available for a select few developers and others.

Meanwhile the "Ok Glass" video that Google released this week to show off Google Glass and its UI has already received a funny parody. The late night talk show Conan had a skit earlier this week that showed another wearable device that Google could make in the future. Check out the video to see what we mean.
