nsane.forums Posted February 14, 2013 Share Posted February 14, 2013 A few days after announcing its first Chromebook, a new rumor claims HP could launch its own Android-based tablets, starting with one running NVIDIA's Tegra 4 processor.HP is rumored to be launching a new tablet family, but these products won't be based on Windows 8 or RT. The report claims that these products will be running on Google's Android and could be officially announced in the very near future.ReadWrite.com reports, via unnamed sources, that the tablet has been in development since the fall of 2012 and will run on NVIDIA's recently revealed, and highly powerful, Tegra 4 processor. No other details about the HP tablet were revealed.HP famously launched the WebOS-based TouchPad tablet in July 2011 but sales were so bad that HP shut down production of the tablet just a month later. HP launched a number of Windows 8-based touchscreen laptops and convertibles in the last few months, but the only true Windows 8 tablet that has has been released by HP so far is the ElitePad 900.Earlier this month, HP launched its first notebook based on Google's Chrome OS. The 14-inch Pavilion 14 Chromebook is on sale now for $330.
