Project Shield: Turbo charged gaming handheld coming to the UK!

Are you itching to getting your hands on Nvidia’s lightning
fast gaming handheld, Project Shield? You won’t have to wait too long,
as the company is moving fast to get the console to the UK as soon as
possible.

Best known for its graphics cards, Nvidia surprised many at CES
last month with its clamshell gaming console that can play Android
games and stream even demanding PC games. While the console is set to
hit the US and Canada between April and June, the company is keen to get
the handheld out the door and into gamers’ hands worldwide.

According to
Nvidia’s director of product marketing Jason Paul, the company wants to
sprint to get it into Europe and Asia. “Since the announcement we’ve
had people knocking on our door. So there’s interest in distributing the
product. Shield is targeting Android and PC gamers, so we are looking
for people who can sell into that market.”

Game systems live and die by the number of games available for them,
and that depends on the numbers sold – a real chicken and egg situation
Nvidia will be keen to solve quickly with a global release it seems –
so look out for Project Shield on these shores soon.
