Anyone know if any of those "IDM Optimizers" out there actually work in increasing speeds?

The best Optimizer I came across is; a higher internet connection plan - it really works. ;)

If you have a ~10Mbps+ connection, don't think you'll be needing this anyways. For ~2Mbps and lower speeds though (especially dial-up speeds), a few Kbps that it might add is a boon definitely. But IMO, with ever increasing connection speeds, download optimizers, traffic shapers etc. will slowly go the way of registry cleaners and disk defraggers ;)

Despite my best efforts by cleaning my previous versions,i couldn't install this as everytime i try,it installs and finally says,'fake serial registered and IDM is exiting' and it goes off!

I don't know how i could overcome this!

Can anybody guide me?

Use the patch on it (after you get the fake serial message).

delete [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Internet Download Manager] from registry and run the patch again :) (x86)

i did but of no use,saying"no file to patch''done' like that.Maybe i'll try the solution given by rachmanwawan and come back !

Finally it did work though initially i was getting the message,'Trial version has expired as it was not registered in 30days.IDM should be registered or uninstalled,...bla...bla!

but when i looked in the 'Program files' i was able to find and patched it.

IDM is starting to detect patches

IDM v6.15 when patched with IDM.v6.Keygen.and.Patch-BRD

and every time you add new link and after the file size appears

this message pops up

but it doesn't close after and you can download just fine

other patches work without the message

but it could be a sign of things to come

Try uninstalling it completely and then reinstall,may be it is some registry issue.

I've been using BRD since the SND patch stopped working a long time back :(. BRD lets you use your own name for registration unlike Babel's patch. Any of the other ones on your post does that? :dunno:

Oh yeah, I like the fact that with the hosts method IDM has to be registered just one single time - no more headaches at subsequent installations.

dcs18's solution works great :) But if you have to use a patch, I'll suggest iOTA atm. They're really good at what they do and always trustworthy. ;)

Just replace the xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx with your license - not necessary once you've used the hosts method.
