Microsoft is yet to go public with this change, but Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet writes that the Corporate Vice President Ted Kummert will leave the company on January 31.

The head of Microsoft’s Data Platform Group (DPG) has been in charge with product strategy and development of the application platform, including cloud services and application servers.

While it’s not yet clear who will take over his responsibilities, Kummert is a long-time Microsoftie, as he joined the Redmond-based technology giant in 1989.

He worked for a large number of divisions and participated in the development of essential projects, including Small Business Server, Windows Server Terminal Serves and Microsoft Internet Security &
Acceleration Server.

As said, Microsoft hasn’t confirmed the departure yet, but the company is very likely to release a press statement on the matter anytime soon.
