nsane.forums
It's been well documented that Windows Phone 8 runs on the NT kernel, the same as Windows 8. But how would you react to a desktop error message appearing on your phone handset? While we’ve all seen error messages, BSODs, PSODs and RSODs, they are becoming less and less common and frequent. And among the hundreds that you may have seen, there is always one or two that will stand out for their irrelevance or down right absurdity. That’s exactly what has happened with Windows Phone 8. A tweet posted by F-Secure CRO Mikko Hypponen shows exactly what could easily be classed as a “WTF is going on?!” moment. Showing what looks to be a standard Windows desktop boot error, the phone asked Hypponen the following: Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer. Em, okay. Where? How?! But let’s not be naïve here, this could easily be fake, a photo taken with the phone’s camera and the image displayed on screen. But WMPoweruser decided to do a bit of investigating and found that Pocket PC forum member dantist’s Lumia 920 suffered the same fate! Dantist, real name Johnny Ruokokoski, posted this image on Wednesday and after a push by another Twitter user, Windows Phone Support got involved. You can see their tweets below. It just goes to show the pitfalls of tinkering with your phone. While Windows Phone Support cannot provide any support to Ruokokoski, we’re sure the community will be able to help him get past this issue. And to echo The Next Web, it’s good to be able to see and prove that Windows Phone 8 runs on the NT kernel. View: Original Article

calguyhunk
The very first thing I thought on reading this was that the user must have tried to use his brain a bit too much :P Turns out to be exactly the case :yes:Keep your tinkering to the x86 and Android devices, is what I'll say to 99.99% of people who would have paid $599 or thereabouts for a Lumia 920 :)if u got lucky, nokia developers will solve this problem with updates. LOL! No, that ain't happening any time soon :hehe: Apparently, it's hardcoded in the NT kernel. That being the case, only MS can 'technically' do something about it. But seeing as it involves starting the whole differentiation between Win x86 and Win ARM from the scratch - literally - that ain't happening either :P
Marik
>windows 8 >meant for tablets and phones >not meant for desktop >we got it anyways >not even phones like it well shit microsoft, how will you redeem yourself after this one?
insnclwn Guilty
i dnt know, i dnt have that poblem. first bsod is a Windows protection. second bad f- secure programmers is the problem. the problem must be f-secure. i can bet. Is pretty blame other from ur issues. yeah Windows have the problem. all the time Windows problems is from third parties sw. n of course they say Windows is the problem. ahahahahaha. easy to blame. also android is a joke n also macos iPhone also use the same kernel isnt form scratch like u say. android n macos both almost the same, both came from the pretty old BSD. but this system platform file u cant use properly n "antivirus" sw. also antivirus dosent work properly it use black list., this third parties sw the only thing it does is break ur system, also slow ur device. dnt use bad third parties sw.
