Microsoft has recently released a Fix it tool developed to help users configure their computers in order to stay away from the recently discovered Internet Explorer exploit.

According to Microsoft, the bug allows remote code execution if users browse to a malicious website with one of the affected IE versions. A security update that would completely patch the bug is expected on the next Patch Tuesday cycle.

People still use IE ?

In UK people use IE ( libraries, charities, universities, college ). I also know one charity with 60 computers running mostly XP and IE 7, they also had Office 2003 , this year went to Office 2010. So some people are still slow to understand the benefits of new things.

Yeah! Many are using it. And Here is the Market Usage shares of IE:

IE 6-6.52%, IE 8-23.29% and IE 9-21.35%

This will tell you the answer. Many MNC and IT Cos, use only IE and have their filters merged to get a accelerated and perfected IE.

Lots of people use IE because thats all they know how to use. Make an OS with IE, Firefox, and Chrome on it and then we can see whats really used the most.

That's what browser ballot is used for. Then everyone starts screaming that noooo, it's a MS OS, they have all the rights to include whatever browser they want. BS. See what MS did with IE in the old days. IE wouldn't have improved a single bit if it wasn't for Firefox and other browsers. I say, all the Windows versions, EU or not, should have a browser ballot.

There are only small problems with IE. Which can be solved easily by Ms but willingly not doing it. Many have given feedbacks about these through MS Connect. Me incl other developers gave much in detail and suggestions but MS didn't even reply to any of them.

Most Needed in IE:

  • A perfect Ad-Blocker
  • Themes
  • Addons-even if present, not having most needed items in gallery
