This shouldn't surprise anyone, but there's now evidence that Windows 7 will ship in multiple editions, following trends set by Windows XP and Windows Vista.

I agree. This is where Microsoft confuses everyone. One minute, they're changing the MS Office 2007 toolbar (with no toggling feature to provide the use of the legacy version), and now they're going out of their way to strip their brand new Operating System down to it's bare bones; leaving those customers to wonder why they even should bother with upgrading their OSes. I say there ought to be just two versions: Personal and Business. If Microsoft is boasting about their new state of the art software technology, they damn well better make sure they deliver that experience to the paying customers.

I guess with the economy in deep shit now, Microsoft is trying to make more money by coming out with more versions.

Wow they are getting it right again. The tiered system worked so well with Vista. Why not continue.

I've got a better one:

Brains and No brains version, Brains comes without all the stuff you do not need, and No brains comes included with every thing they could load it with(standard AV, Firewall, Mail, Messenger...).

LOL, guys! You fellas crack me up! 8)

That's right; I think I recall reading a post in this forum that their OneCare Security pay service will become a free service. Might as well bundle it along with the OS. I'm kinda' getting sick and tired of "trying out" all the different retail AV clients, anyway.

Windows 7 is actually called "Windows Vista - Finally Fixed"

Microsoft should offer Free upgrade for those using Vista....why? Because they are beta-tester for 7.

Vista came out, I had about 30 people a day coming over to where I lived (and this was Iraq mind you) asking me to fix their computers. I was so happy when SP1 cam out and there were actually fixes in it.
