Last summer the UK Department for Business launched a consultation on illegal P2P file-sharing and its impact on the British arts and entertainment industries. The consultation called for evidence on the issues involved and invited views from rights holders, ISPs, consumer organisations, and the wider public on a range of options to tackle the problem.

It recently published the responses to the consultation, and the feedback received paints an interesting picture of where each party stands.

In fact, there a marked difference of views between the rights holder community and consumers and the ISPs over what action should be taken.
