Old Vista Hardware being repacked with Windows 8

I was buying me a new mouse when I saw on a tech shop, a copy of 8 and some laptops pre-installed with Windows 8.

I saw 1 Asus Netbook and 1 Acer Notebook with the ff. specs:

Intel Atom 1.7 GHz

2 GB RAM

NO GRAPHIC CARDS (WTF!?)

320 GB Hard Disk

Now I know these are compatible and all that but why shove old hardware to Windows 8? These laptops according to the salesman does NOT have the following:

UEFI BIOS (Which latest motherboards have)

Newer Integrated Graphics

(The guy didn't give me a specific model number but he told me both machines run under the first few Intel GMCHs on WDDM whose exact version was not specified)

NOW SOME OF YOU MAY SAY THAT THESE ARE ACTUALLY WINDOWS 7 HARDWARE I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT I HAVE SEEN THE SAME SPECS OF PCs WAY LONG BEFORE THE ACTUAL RELEASE OF WINDOWS 7

Country: Philippines

An UEFI BIOS is not a pre-requisite for Windows 8 - newer integrated graphics, either. ;)

I've been running Windows 7 on a laptop that was built 9 years before Windows 7 was even born - innovative stuff that from a Sales-guy (hug him, today.)

At one time, I had x64 Windows 8 Pro running on my Acer One Aspire D255. It ran relatively smoothly until I tried doing graphically intense software. 1Gig of RAM just couldn't handle the 64 bit software.

I "downgraded" to x32 and everything runs much better. Also, Windows 8 runs smoother AND quicker than Windows 7 did on the same laptop with the exact same hardware specifications.

Atom 1.7 Gig dual core

1 Gig DDR Ram

Integrated Intel graphics (netbook hack to run live tiles)

120 GB aftermarket HD

I say it was innovative for that guy. But the thing here is, I have nothing against the laptops or the companies who made them but I personally feel like their doing what they did with Vista, and I think the reason why it didn't suck is because 8 had awesome support.

The only necessary thing for the installation of newer versions of Windows Operating system is the minimum requirement. If a machine meets the minimum requirement parameter then you can install newer version of Windows like Windows 8 on it.
