nsane.forums
Microsoft has announced that it will release seven software updates for many of its products for its monthly "Patch Tuesday" event next week, including one critical update each for Windows 8 and IE10. As they always do around this time every month, Microsoft has now given some advanced hints about software updates it plans to release via its monthly "Patch Tuesday" event. For December, it will occur on December 11th. Microsoft issued its alert to the upcoming patches on its Security Bulletin page today. There will be a total of seven separate updates released by the company on Tuesday. Three of the updates will be for the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 8, with two described as "critical" and the other as "important". One of the two critical updates is centered around the Internet Explorer 10 web browser. Two of the updates will be for Windows RT and both of the patches are labled "critical", and again one relates to the Windows RT version of IE10. As usual, the specific details about what is being fixed in these updates won't be revealed until the patches themselves are available for download in order to not give hacker groups an advanced heads-up. It's likely that we will also see an update for Adobe's Flash Player on Tuesday as well. Last month, it was revealed that Adobe has changed its patches for Flash so they can be released at the same time as Microsoft's "Patch Tuesday". AlienForce1
Does it fix the bug that causes the start menu to disappear? :D There's no fix for human stupidity. Not installing Windows 8 fixes that bug. Comments on original article. :P
Administrator DKT27 Posted December 6, 2012 Administrator Share Posted December 6, 2012 Seriously though, if anyone, whether he is a Windows 8 lover or hater, thinks that difference between Windows 7 and Windows 8 is limited to just Start Menu / Metro, he is thoroughly misinformed. And yes, it was trap. :P Seriously mah man, remove the Metro sh*t and you will like Windows 8. It's fast & better. There are some great and helpful things that you couldn't do in Windows 7 but you can in Windows 8. Take Task Manager for example. Ever see a buggy software that keeps hanging? Just open Task Manager > Details > Right click the process you want > Analyse wait chain. It will tell you exactly why the software has hanged and what processes are causing it to hang. This is one of 100s-1000s of examples. I was one of the biggest critic of Windows 8. However, exclude Metro and I recommend it to every geek. mara-
And yes, it was trap. :P :lmao: You got me. Take Task Manager for example. Ever see a buggy software that keeps hanging? Just open Task Manager > Details > Right click the process you want > Analyse wait chain. It will tell you exactly why the software has hanged and what processes are causing it to hang. This is one of 100s-1000s of examples. New Task Manager really looks nice, but one thing annoys me the most. For example, when you open two notepads, you don't know which is which without expanding the process. I don't understand this move. If it was all grouped under one notepad.exe it would make sense, but this way it's just sucks. Also, mind telling me how many processes do you have running without counting manually? Cheers ;)

As for process numbers, sure:
mara-
You still need to do the addition of those number to know total number of processes. :P I mean, that's not the big deal, but why should we do that? And how do you not use two notepads, when I see two running? :lol:Cheers ;)

calguyhunk
I was one of the biggest critic of Windows 8. However, exclude Metro and I recommend it to every geek. I would too, if i didn't have to click so much more than on Win7. It's just a royal PITA. :(
dcs18
I find that I need to click exactly the same number of times as I did in Windows 7 (which is pretty infrequent when compared to any other OS.) In addition to the above, I have a Desktop Dock which would make life easier for even those who use the Start Screen as default, instead of a Start Menu in the the Desktop. dcs18
To my eyes, the Task Manager in every Windows OS is dumb-ass - have always set Process Explorer, as default. ;)
