Yes it is BETA. It's noted as "Version 310.70 - BETA" on the NVIDIA website. Also when you install this beta driver the Windows Security warning dialog box pops up, which you won't receive with a WHQL driver.

you probably got the wrong installer. I installed it and it is NOT BETA.

It's whql signed by nvidia corp. No warning whatsoever during installation.

I'm certain you received the warning and didn't notice it or you previously checked "Always trust software from" so you don't get the Windows Security warning anymore. I used the x64 installer. http://us.download.n...ternational.exe

There is no reason denying It's BETA when it's noted as such on their official website.

There is also no english only driver for this release, which only happens with BETA's.

Something happened between yesterday and today, then. When I searched for the driver, using the form, I got this version as official, non-beta. Now I search and get 306.97.

Something happened and they moved this driver back to beta status, but it was not beta yesterday!

Plus, betas usually carry a "beta" in the installer's filename...

They missed to add beta in the file name for this one. When I installed it yesterday it was labeled BETA then too, at least on the NVIDIA website, not sure about geforce.com.

They certainly got people confused, it doesn't mention being a BETA in the article title on geforce.com, but in the actual article they say it's only a WHQL-candidate driver.

More info here.
