nIGHT
I'm not an expert but some posts on these topics may help you decide: Which laptop should I buy? Looking for a new laptop... As for my opinion, if you can have one which is of intel i7 the better since performance and gaming is your purpose. A dedicated graphics card such as amd radeon or nvidia is a must for gaming. Intel HD graphics might not do the job even if u set it in the medium setting. For almost same price as the model you posted above you can buy an intel i7 with amd radeon card 6490M HP ProBook 4530s priced at $514 (your HP 655 at $429) I will not recommend hp though. bwop
RAM and HD are a wash. CPU is won by the Acer. Graphics most likely the HP.What makes it a no brainer is that the Acer is not an HP (Horrible Product), while the HP is an HP.Acer, hands down. RadioActive
Both are low-end laptops so don't expect much in terms of performance, especially gaming. The HP will most likely perform a little better in games due its better onboard graphics, but the Acer's processor is much better than the HP's.As I said, you shouldn't have high hopes for gaming on either laptops. That being said, I'd choose the Acer if the price is right.Just my two cents.
Administrator DKT27 Posted November 18, 2012 Administrator Share Posted November 18, 2012 Unless badly ported, games rely heavily on graphics card. Having a powerful processor means almost nothing if the graphics card is weak.Having said, both CPU and GPU should be powerful to prevent bottleneck. Also, I'm not aware how powerful is Intel HD Graphics 3000.

Tweety.Abd
Neither laptops are good enough for gaming really. I'd say save a few more bucks and buy a better laptop.
Snowrider
HP is good but now I’m using Asus and I’m quite satisfied with it. Even the battery is doing fine.
