i used to love eset for the low footprint, but lately i see its lacking detection/disifection

from what i read the best are kaspersky, f-secure and bitdefender

bitdefender is made in romania (where im from) but i like it the least

I have an old machine, not powerful enough for Avast, avira, Kaspersky etc..That is why I use Clamwin which does NOT have an on-access real-time scanner. You need to manually scan a file in order to detect virus/spyware.

Not powerful enough for avast ? A 10-year old Pentium 3 processor will do, with 128 MB RAM and 600 MB of hard-drive space. :D That's at least what avast says on their website

Try it.

ESET .. I think better in the detection and removing viruses :)

I think, ESET still does not protect completely.

The best defense is - sleep alone. Or, if isn't possible, use a condom - and You are fully protected.

why do we have to have an endless argument about this?

each antivirus has its own power, so don't compare antivirus with each other.

Hey Asio,

Your website WWW.ALLSOFTINONE.COM cannot viewed by me, because ESET Smart Security blocks this website. Do you now understand why ESET is the best AV?

my website is blocked because i post keys for eset

I just went to your site and love it. Keep it up. Thanks for your hard work man!!!

Unending discussion. Whichever one serves you purpose. Not necessarily the one that uses the least system resources.

Which is the best antivirus?

It is a question that I ask myself on a daily basis, mainly I like to follow the AV-Test results how antivirus apps performs, then I also like to follow forums which shows all Pros and Cons, then I might try few antivirus apps and when I finally find a good one I will keep that one.

Right now it's ESET Smart Security 7.

(Though I'm not sure why ESET has so slow website, it doesn't give a good image from their antivirus app if their website won't work properly, maybe it's just cosmetic)

someone there

I recently switched from bitdefender to kaspersky internet security ..

I found it very lite on system resources and less intrusion message during work .. I love it .

IMHO the only AV that's worth anything is one that cannot be hacked, and that applies to one AV Nortons I BUY a Small Business Pack i.e. 5 machines each year covers me well, I have been using it since they "Norton" swallowed Dr Solomon's stuck with it till 2005 did not do the upgrades from then till 2009 when it went all heavy and I found the 2005 version did everything I needed but thankfully Norton listened to their customers complaints about being a resource hogger and streamlined it in 2009 been with it since.

But I will say for those short of cash MSE works well I have several single parents on the books still who I help out so their kids can do their homework and MSE works for them along with Malwarebytes keeps them safe.
