Just install any antivirus suite like

DrWeb Mobile Security

or

Kaspersky Mobile Security

You will have blacklist option for both calls & SMS's

Personally I use DrWeb becoz of its light on system feature + Anti Theft features

Or

If u want individual softwares then GOSMS has a grea filter option for SMS & for calls use extreme call blocker

Avast antivirus offers that feature, but I didn't use it heavily so you'll have to try it yourself. In any case, Avast is a freeware and it's by far the best android AV in terms of features, not to mention you can't beat its price (FREE) :D

I use Call Control Lite v 3.1.2

The free version will block any calls not listed in your contacts, or any you add to the black list.

It does the same for messages. Lite on resources also. I have been using the free version for awhile now with out any troubles.

It also keeps a log of blocked numbers.

as warrior said antivirus appl block sms n cals but wont have exclusive other features .they jus block n wont have accesory features.

i always use "afirewall" programme to block both cal n sms n this is da best appl so far on playstore.see link below

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lianyun.afirewall.inapp&feature=search_result

this s a free appl n even paid one also there.but u wil be happy with free one itself no need of goging for paid version.lots other appl there on playstore but i recommend this one highly.just give it a try n u wil surely thank me for my suggestion.

Has anybody used this one?Call Blocker by embware

https://play.google....e=search_result

I did try it briefly. It's lightweight and completely free (no ads), all in all, I liked it. It's straightforward and gets the job done.

this appl had still bugs in receiving sms when blacklisted.i know very wel abt this one.bugs bugs..

afirewall is DA BEST

Well, as I said, I tried it briefly, but so far so good. As for "aFirewall", I'm afraid I'm gonna pass on that. It looks skiddish, and I don't like deceptive naming since it's NOT a firewall. A firewall is an application that controls whether applications can access the internet or not (Avast offers that feature as well).

I have tried virtually all of them, and find Dr. Web Anti Virus is the easiest to use.

What I really like about it is the ability to Blacklist SMS messages from the SMS log.

The SMS blocking feature worked easier and faster than any of the other programmes I have tried including Root Call Blocker and others.

Ravisoorya,

Thank you for the kind, motivational, uplifting resonse to my attempt to offer dvice.

I was speaking from personal experience since my first Android phone about four years ago.

I was not trying to be smug, arrogant or a GURU in any way, I was trying to help!

At that time, having tried numerous programmes, and settled on Dr Web, which I use still today.

Maybe I am not so tech savvy with Android as you and/or others, and referred to SMS blocking and not firewalls...

I simply voiced my preference, and the problems I encountered along the way.

That is why I said I (as in me, myself personally) found Dr Web easier and faster.

If you like something else - that is your choice, I am not forcing my opinion on you, or anyone else.

Just as I respect other people's personal opinions in whatever they choose to believe, or feel, I too have the right to my own opinions,

Cheers, dude.
