Lots of good ideas that could work for the right situation.At this point, I would be looking at the following..1. Data recovery should the first priority. Get ur junk safe first. Music, pics, vids, docs, secret plans to rule the world, etc...(Have you tried knoppix? If you are familiar with Linux, moving data between drives is easy this way. It boots from the cd or dvd and gives you access to just about all data.)2. Repair or reformat the drive. 3. Buy another drive - they are cheap now.
