Mr Orus
This is a malware detection rate (file scanning) test. The file detection tests show the detection rates of products over an actual and prevalent malware test set from the previous weeks/months. This test also takes into consideration the false positive rate. Please read the full test report (available in PDF format). http://www.av-comparatives.org/comparativesreviews/detection-test/238-file-detection-test-october-2012

SkyrimGuy
100% and it will slow your computer to a slow sputter. The only reason that it got 100% is because it slowed the computer to a crawl and couldn't download any malware. :P
Knightmare
See the chart for September Whole Product Dynamic "Real World" Protection Test - AV-Comparatives http://chart.av-comp....org/chart2.php Trend Micro scores 100% :oI went from this to ESET. When I switched, ESET found some viruses that went undetected by Trend Micro. Definitely not my favourite.

Mr Orus
There is no best antivirus ever, but there may be the best antivirus for you. Let me explain: there is no antivirus better than others for me and for you and foranyone as it is subjective needs. There antivirus targeted at a user expert antivirus companies, antivirus for gamers, antivirus that require a large consumption of resources and therefore unsuitable for older or less powerful PCs,etc..How to find and choose the best antivirus for you?If you want to find the best antivirus for your specific case must first of all think that usually you use your computer and the performance of the same. There are also anti-virus, anti-spyware, firewall and spam filter. Many functions means reliability, because a few antivirus functionality could protect acomputer less than a super suite equipped but un professional. To help evaluate the effectiveness of the antivirus, speed, detection and eliminationof malware antivirus rankings are compiled by major industry players who test all the best existing antivirus and will draw up a better ranking.Guys sorry if my English is not perfect!!. :)

Administrator DKT27 Posted October 13, 2012 Administrator Share Posted October 13, 2012 just wondering is it posted in correct section? :) Thanks. Didn't notice it. Moved to Security and Privacy Center. where is symantex Symantec and AV-Comparatives has had some disputes. In summary, Symantec only wanted to enter specific tests, in which it felt was better, which is against AV-Comparatives policy cause they want AVs to enter all the tests in a year. No matter what AV I tried, ESET will always remain the most light and fast normal AV (excluding HIPS).

R3C0N
I have installed on all PC's and on my Laptop Microsoft Security essentials. It doesnt have so many False Positive as most others and it is nearly not to feel any performance loose after installation also its free and that means never expire and daily updates - no worries.Once installed and never need to activate or renew subscriptions. As no free commercial AV i recommend all AV's with bitdefender definations such as F-Secure, Bullguard...Trustport and G-Data can use dual engines but as soon Avast signature Defination engine is on the false positive rate grow high.Norton, as nice it is, it eats most keygens and hacktools especially if exe packers are used, cause it can not unpack to scan in exe packed archives rather it flags it all as virus.I will never use a security suite because the best combination with all features from 2 products or more under one gui does not exist and if it will be Outpost Firewall (gives u the most info of whats going on plus can filter ads, urls's) and any AV using Bitdefender Signature. No AV or Firewall uninstalls clean without rests. Some left them own drivers, tons of registry keys and other files hidden, logs, quarantene,... in the system. No Regcleaner or diskcleaner can remove this trash. You need a specific uninstall tool. An all in one collection of original uninstallers called "AV Uninstall Tools Pack" a must have if change the AV to remove rests of the old one.Website: http://uninst.ru/av-uninstall-tools-pack
