nsane.forums
An infographic has been created which outlines the hidden costs users may face when purchasing an iPhone. The data shows that accessories and data plans could cost you more than you ever expected. One very awesome infographic has been made by Avalache Media, which outlines the hidden costs to the iPhone 5 based on a number of resources. The company’s research indicates that consumers can spend over $1800 a year, and waste over 300 hours of time over the same period. These costs do contain a lot of things that everyone might not need such as a case, car charger, docking station and much more, but then there are the costs of iTunes cards, Bookstore and App Store and there’s no doubt that people spend a decent amount of money over a year on premium applications. However, the thing you’ll definitely be paying for is your carrier’s data and voice plan, which can total up to $1440 in some cases. If you’re interested in seeing what exactly adds up to the hidden costs of owning an iPhone, please look at the infographic below and remember that before fanboys get angry, most of these accessories and data plans would cost the same for some other devices. There are some difference. Official iPhone accessories cost and break down a hell lot. I'm not in US. but those who go for iPhone also fall for the vendor locked problems. The case well, I bought a cheap, good thing. Apple users however, are only recommended "official" Apple products. Also to note is that an non-Apple user doesn't suffer from all this. Why? Because only Apple fanboy would buy a new phone every year. :P

Actually, as an Android user, I also tempted to have/try new Android phones which is featured faster CPU, bigger screen, bigger RAM - I think it is the same too. But I don't have to really have/buy it, just curious to know. Why feels so annoying? Because with the same cost you can get a better, faster, and more reliable Android product than iPhone, that's it. And there's a lot Android smartphone vendor Doesn't like shiny skin thing that feels like a cheap phone in Samsung? That's okay, there's HTC, Motorola, Sony, and more to choose, rather than just single iPhone with 2 colors.

It's funny that the iPhone 4S costs more than the Galaxy S3 when even the Galaxy S2 is a better deal than the iPhone 4S in almost every aspect :D
calguyhunk
Official iPhone accessories cost and break down a hell lot.... Apple fanboys are basically loaded idiots, pardon my language if you will ;) Why? Well, I can always start with the Mac, but I won't even go there. I don't normally use strong language on forums unlike most of my imbecilic countrymen, but you'll know where I'm coming from once you take a look at the following news report from my hometown of Kolkata, WB, India. Apple may be selling the iPhone 5 only in black and white but in Calcutta it is available in 50 shades of grey..................... ...................A 22-year-old city entrepreneur who does not want to be named bought his iPhone 5 at Fancy Market in Kidderpore for Rs 1 lakh, two days after it became available in US stores on September 21.................... ...................the iPhone 4S came to India about a month and a half after the US.................. BTW, Rs. 1 Lakh~$1920 at today's exchange rate :o And no, there's no typo They'd much rather pay ~$1920 to get an iPhone and burn their (in all probability) ill gotten wealth, rather than paying ~$600 for an unlocked Galaxy SIII which is legally available with receipt and warranty And if you really want an iPhone, isn't waiting for a month and a half a better option? :dunno: LINK to the story ;)
Administrator DKT27 Posted October 5, 2012 Administrator Share Posted October 5, 2012 Crazy. :mellow:Another thing I forget to note. People might be buying apps on Android, but so many free apps are downloaded over paid, that Google once showed their concern about it in public. One more thing, I don't think you can install pirated apps or do some simple, but important things in iPhone, without jailbreaking it. Which, thanks to Apple's aggressive approach, gets patched on every update (AFAIK).
