What to Configure: In this guide I'll show you how to configure FIREWALL, ANTISPAM & PRIVACY settings to work with your taste.

Why Configure: From the small test, I've found out that Bitdefender's new Internet Firewall, Antispam & Privacy filters are by default configured to interfere with warez downloads & torrent site or popular warez site browsing. It also stops download manager like IDM to download medicine.
So, after several tests I've finally found out the settings that can live with warez in harmony. I've tried to keep this guide as simple as possible.

Configuring FIREWALL:

1. Open Bitdefender Total Security 2013.
2. Click on FIREWALL Config (shown in f1)

3. In the first window turn "Paranoid mode" ON. (shown in f2)

By doing this, Bitdefender Total Security 2013 will ask for your permission everytime a new program tries to connect to the internet. Click Allow to allow a program to connect & if the program is using medicine then it is wise to block it through this permission prompt.

4. Now click on ADVANCED tab.
5. Turn the "IDS (Intrusion Detection System)" ON (By default it is OFF) & keep the slider to the bottom option Permissive.
6. Keep the PORT SCAN option ON (important for security) then Turn OFF all other options
(SEE THIS PROCEDURE in f3)

This part is now finished.

Now return to main window by clicking HOME icon upper left corner.
Here:

1. In FIREWALL section click on "MANAGE ADAPTERS" (shown in f4)

2. From the next window modify the settings from Drop Down window as it is shown in f5.

FOR LAN, WLAN, WiFi or any other connection:
#Network Type: HOME/OFFICE (if you are using the net from home; modify it as necessary)
#Stealth Mode: OFF (Recommended by BITDEFENDER COMMUNITY, has loads of incompatibility issue on internet settings. Better to turn this off)
#Generic : YES (Also recommended by BITDEFENDER COMMUNITY)

Configuring ANTISPAM:

1. Open Bitdefender Total Security 2013.
2. Click on ANTISPAM Config (shown in f6).

3. From SETTINGS window Switch OFF "LINK FILTER" (shown in f7).
This is one of those feature that will prevent you from downloading from few filehosts & if filename contains the ususal names of medicine (Pa...ch, cra...k, Key....n etc.), So turning this off will make those links work again.

4. Now go to ADVANCE tab,
5. Turn OFF IN-THE CLOUD DETECTION (shown in f8).
This is essential as this filter prevents you from going to some scene release site & block most of the links from working. If you use in-browser anti-phishing filter then this option can be safely turned off. Also, if you have mid or slow internet connection this detection can slow down site load or even causes "REQUEST TIMED OUT" error in downloads or browsing.

Configuring PRIVACY:

1. Open Bitdefender Total Security 2013.
2. Click on PRIVACY Config (shown in f9).

3. Now you need to modify SEARCH ADVISOR & SCAN SSL & make it OFF (shown in f10).

SCAN SSL option causes slow page load in FACEBOOK if you use HTTPS settings. Also causes GMAIL or YAHOO MAIL page to show "PAGE UNABLE TO LOAD ERROR" in any browser. If you want you can keep this settings on but it is unnecessary.
